What a fuck up.
I just tried to book a flight using my Amex card and the screen flashed me a message telling me my card had been cancelled.
I call Amex who inform me the card was cancelled because I left the company on Jan 6th.
"Interesting" I thought as I leaned back in my chair at my desk ... still very much working my ass off for the company.
They kindly gave me the name of my company account handler and said I should call them to find out what the error is.
Er ... the error is that I might have been here a week for no bloody reason.
I then find out it is the account handler who has left the company last week and by some incompetant fuck up they (my company) cancelled all Amex cards instead of just his.
Almost ammusing when you think how large the company is I work for ... 65,000 employees worldwide with approx 30% having corpoate cards.
Should be some interesting emails tomorrow considering Amex have said it will take 10 days to issue new cards as they can't just reactivate the old ones under their fraud policy.
